BBQ at the McBratneys!

Lindsie & Alex invited us over to their place in Corona Del Mar to have a bbq. You see, Lindsie and I have been friends for all of our lives. Our dads played football together in high school and then when Lindsie & I were in elementary school we were dance partners and lived in the same neighborhood. Across the street from Lindsie’s house lived the Watsons.  The oldest daughter was our babysitter and the second to the youngest daughter was Ashlie’s, Lindsie’s sister, very good friend named Emily.  Wow, talk about confusing with all of those names…anyways….all that to say, Ashlie, Emily and I all have had baby girls within this past year; so Lindsie got us all together to catch up with each others’ lives.  It was a great time and Emily did her infamous Other Sister impression….hysterical!!!!

Here’s a pic of the three girls: London, Taylor & Olivia and their dads, oh, except London’s dad…that’s Alex holding London.  BD was letting him practice being a dad with London.  Alex & Linds will be great parents some day!

Dear Grandma (the late fire cracker),

I know your in heaven rejoicing with Jesus today and everyday.  Even though you’ve been gone for about a year and a half now, I still miss you so very much! I wish so badly you could have met London but I know someday you will.  Don’t you worry though, she will know all about you through pictures, videos and many memories I will share with her and she will love you just the same! Can you believe I’m a mom, I can’t either!  I wish you could give me some of your wisdom and advice on motherhood.  Well actually, I guess you have through your example all these years to your kids and all of us cousins.  So, I will do my best to follow your example!  Boy, what an amazing example you were of what a godly women should be!  Thanks for the many wonderful memories.  I love you with all of my heart!  You will never be forgotten and I can’t wait to see you one day!  Give Grandpa a big hug from me!

LOVE YOU ALWAYS!!!

XOXO

Rae The Cat

So, I can’t believe it’s come to this but it has.  You see, prior to getting Rae, I had a wonderful cat named Samantha aka “Sam”.  She was the best cat I’ve ever had, even though I only had her for 11 short months.  Sam had to be put to sleep because she either had FIV (Cat Aids) or Leukemia.  The reason why we didn’t find out was because you had to pay thousands of dollars for her to be even diagnosed, not to mention the funds there after to treat her.  I didn’t get into debt though thanks to my friend B who was there to help talk some sense into me.  Because in that moment, I was ready to give the vet my life savings, good thing I didn’t.  Well, needless to say, to help me get over Sam BD bought me Rae.  She was beautiful at first sight (on the outside at least).  Then, I got to know Rae.  You see, Rae knows she’s hot therefore, she’s a snob and stuck up (I say that in the most loving, motherly way).  Rae is a one person cat who loves me and no one else.  However, she has warmed up to BD but has never forgiven him for stealing her sleeping spot next to me in the bed. I blame me partly for Rae’s social skills or lack there of because when I got Rae I lived by myself.  So, she wasn’t socialized and was used to only me and her.  Then B and I lived together and holy cow the best story of Rae is when she went diarrhea all over Bethany’s room.  Funny now but not at the time!!!!!  Anyways, all this to say, it’s time to start looking for another home for Rae.  I do LOVE Rae but I love my little girl, London, a whole lot more.  And it’s just not working out with Rae in the household as well as London.  Rae is upset that London has taken over what she thought was her room.  So, if you know of anyone who would like a beautiful, three year old Persian cat who solely loves her owner, please let me know!  Obviously, I haven’t done a good job trying to sell Rae to the reader as a wonderful household pet but I need to be truthful about her personality because whoever gets her will see it sooner than later.  I will cry when the day comes to give her away but I know it’s best for our family. I’m thankful for Rae helping me get over the loss of my cat Sam but it’s time to move on and it’s time for Rae to move out! To Rae, the most beautiful cat on the outside but not so much on the inside, I wish us lots of luck to find you the perfect home!

Good Times Had By All!

Last night, we had a BBQ in San Clemente at the Crafts house with the Collins.  Megan is preggers with twins ( a boy and a girl)!!!!  She’s a twin herself; so she’s going to be a great mom to twins.  They’re due in November so keep them in your prayers!  We all had such a fun time, eating, laughing and talking all about babies!  Hayley held London most of the night, and London LOVED it.  She’s going to be such a good mommy as well someday! Good times with such great friends!

Date Night!

BD and I finally got away for a night! It was a long time coming and well needed. We went to LA and had dinner amd saw a movie at The Grove. Then, for old times sake, we shared a banana cream cheesecake (our favorite!) at the Cheesecake Factory in Brentwood Village (right by BD’s old place).  We did miss London though and we were glad to see her again, even though she was in good hands at Grammy & G-pa’s house!

So, London has loved her paci since she was a few days old.  However, lately she has found her thumb and switches off between the two.  I’m trying to get her to suck her thumb more because then I don’t have to constantly put the paci back in her mouth when it falls out.  But then, the thumb usually becomes a harder habit to break because it’s attached to you.  I’ve heard a lot of pros and cons for both the pacifier and the thumb.  Maybe I’m bias towards the thumb because that’s what I did. What are your thoughts…is it better to have a pacifier or the thumb?

Here’s some recent photos of London.  She has become very expressive and talkative (cooing and laughing) in the last couple of weeks.  I think we have a chatter box on our hands…hmmm, I wonder where she gets that from!
